Mecum Glendale Tops $47M With Shelby 427 Cobra Roadster Leading Top 10 Sales

From March 17–21, the Mecum Glendale auction at State Farm Stadium saw more than 1,300 vehicles and multiple collections cross the block, totaling $47 million in sales with a 70% sell-through rate. With the Bid Goes On department still closing deals, these numbers are expected to climb even higher in the coming days, auction officials stated in a press release.
The auction’s crown jewel was a 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra Roadster, Serial No. CSX3355, finished in a striking red, that commanded $1,842,500. Not far behind, a 1970 Lamborghini Miura P400, one of only six produced in Verde Miura, sold for $1.705 million, while a 1959 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster rounded out the top three highest-dollar sales at $907,500.
Vintage roadsters dominated the Mecum Glendale lineup, highlighted by the Select Vehicles from the Petersen Automotive Museum collection, featuring a range of rare Hot Rodded 1930s-era Fords. The entire collection brought in over $400,000, with the top lot, the 1933 Ford Roadster known as “Impact,” selling for $106,700. Other standout roadster sales included a 1953 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster at $368,500 and a 1965 Shelby Cobra CSX4000 Series Roadster that sold for $330,000.
