Legends, Vendors, and a Swap Meet to Highlight Chrysler Nationals

Carlisle Chrysler Nationals is set for July 13-15 at the fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The Mopar-themed event will feature nearly 3,000 cars, a swap meet, exhibits, competitions and special guests.

Various displays will spotlight brand anniversaries, including: 50 years of the Plymouth Road Runner; 50 years of the Dodge Super Bee; 50 years of the 340 engine; 50 years of the Hemi Dart and Barracuda; and 25 years of the LH platform. According to Carlisle Events, a limited-edition die-cast A12 Road Runner will be available to bolster the celebration, in addition to the Mopar Survivor display and some special guests. Special guests will include: the Ramchargers and Golden Commandos, Herb McCandless and Linda Vaughn of Hurst fame.

The McCandless Antique Auto collection-which features fine cars, including a display of convertibles from the Forward Look era-is also set to be exhibited, according to Carlisle Events. Additionally, the Mopar garage is set to showcase its top products in addition to a variety of show vehicles. According to the company, show vehicles will be selected by canvasing the field for owners of cars and trucks to interview, and their stories will be shared on Dodge and Mopar’s official social media channels.

Scheduled competitions include the real street autocross shootout, thrill rides with Dodge and the burnout contest, alongside other activities such as the Daisy Duke contest and walk-arounds of the latest offerings from Dodge. The show will also feature seminars on older Mopars. The Restorers Roundtable seminar will be back this year-it was the newest and most popular seminar last year-during which Mopar restorers will answer questions regarding related projects.

Mopar Rebellion car club will once again host its annual event kick-off party-featuring a few hundred cars-at the Carlisle Expo Center on July 12, and the Mopar Hall of Fame will honor this year’s inductees on Saturday.

Paid admission to the Chrysler Nationals will include free walk-in access to the Hurst Nationals, which will be held across the street at the Carlisle Expo Center on Friday and Saturday. The Hurst Nationals will feature an outdoor show field and an air-conditioned, indoor invitational display. It will be open to all Hurst-equipped vehicles.
