Keystone Expands Commercial Fleet Segment with Havis

Keystone Automotive Operations Inc. has welcomed Havis Inc. to its vendor card. Havis provides in-vehicle docking and mounting solutions for mobile professionals across a variety of industries, including public safety, government, public works, health care and fleet transport.

“Havis is an excellent addition to our commercial truck and van segment. Their product solutions are thoughtfully designed to be unobtrusive, user-friendly, and convenient, thereby increasing worker efficiency and safety,” said Scott Percival, Keystone category manager. “We look forward to building a great partnership between our two companies, as we help each other grow in 2019 and beyond.”

By partnering with major computer manufacturers such as Dell, Getac, and Panasonic, as well as leading vehicle OEMs like Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Nissan, Havis has succeeded in creating innovative solutions that allow both technologies to operate harmoniously in mobile work environments, according to the company. Products include computer docking stations, motion devices, equipment consoles, and power management devices, as well as prisoner transport systems and award-winning K9 inserts. The company’s design philosophy revolves around manufacturing products of superior construction, user comfort, and safety.

“Advances in mobile computing have turned today’s vehicles into fully functional offices,” Havis stated in a news release. “Unfortunately, mobile workers often discover that the benefits of mobility come at the expense of comfort and performance-and sometimes even health and safety.”

If equipment is positioned improperly, workers can experience issues such as wrist strain, back pain, and eye fatigue. More concerning, however, is that poorly-mounted accessories can interfere with air bags or detach during an accident, effectively turning into dangerous projectiles, according to Havis.

“We test the entire system, not just the individual components,” according to the company. “Our total solutions undergo the toughest testing in the industry, including 30 mph crash tests and air bag deployment simulations. Vibration tests on our mounting systems simulate impact events and rocky terrain, while rollover simulations ensure your computer won’t eject.”

Havis is headquartered in Warminster, Pennsylvania, but operates another major facility in Plymouth, Michigan. In 2017, the company established Havis Europe to better support its international customers and partners.

“We strive to exceed our own high standards and our customers’ expectations with flexible, integrated solutions,” Havis stated. “We pride ourselves in providing the finest quality products and services to our customers, [and] are committed to continually improving our products, our services and ourselves.”
