Horizon Global Restarts North American Towing & Trailering Business

Towing & trailering supplier plans phased return of customer shipments as inventory & production come back online…

Horizon Global has announced the return of its North American towing and trailering business, with customer shipments expected to resume in fall 2026. The announcement marks the beginning of a new chapter for some of the most recognized and trusted names in towing and trailering, company officials said in a press release.

Horizon Global was acquired by First Brands Group in 2023. First Brands filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2025, and the case was converted to a Chapter 7 liquidation in September 2026. Earlier this year, a bankruptcy court approved the $64 million sale of Horizon’s North American business to a subsidiary of automotive supplier Flex-N-Gate.

The newly formed Horizon Automotive Trading LLC brings manufacturing experience, operational discipline, engineering capability and deep relationships across the automotive industry. The company’s commitment to the aftermarket business provides a strong foundation for rebuilding supply, supporting customers and positioning its brands for long-term growth, the release noted.

REESE, Draw-Tite, Tekonsha, BULLDOG & Fulton Brands Return

For customers, this means a renewed focus on execution, product availability, quality and dependable service. The investment reflects confidence in the strength of these brands, the value of the towing and trailering category and the opportunity ahead, the company said.

Horizon Global’s operations feature industry-leading brands such as REESE, Draw-Tite, Tekonsha, BULLDOG and Fulton—brands used under license that have helped define the towing and trailering category for generations.

The company said its focus is now firmly on rebuilding product availability, strengthening operations and supporting the customers who have supported these brands for decades.

Horizon Global Towing Product Shipments Resume in Fall 2026

Horizon is actively preparing its operations and supply chain for the return of customer shipments beginning this fall. The restart will be phased in as inventory and production come online, with teams working aggressively to restore availability across key towing, trailering and electrical product categories.

“We recognize that recent disruptions have affected our customers and partners. Restoring their confidence will require more than words. It requires dependable products, dependable service and dependable delivery. We are ready to earn that trust again,” company officials said in the press release.

Additional information regarding product availability, order timing and shipping schedules is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
