Hillsborough Concours d’Elegance Marks 70 Years With 1956 Tribute

The Hillsborough Concours d’Elegance will celebrate its 70th anniversary with a special display of legendary sports cars and luxury vehicles from 1956, the inaugural year of the event. The festivities will take place on June 28 at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Burlingame, California.
“Given the significance of this anniversary, now is an ideal time to commemorate the rich history of our concours with the display of dozens of rare sports and luxury cars from 1956,” said Hillsborough Concours chairman Glen Egan. “Our guests can look forward to seeing a wonderful collection of rare, pristinely conditioned models from the world’s most iconic brands.”
A Salute to the 100th Anniversary of Mercedes-Benz, Plus 22 Judged Classes
This year’s concours will also be highlighted by a salute to the 100th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz, with three judged classes: Pre-War, Post-War and Sportscars.
Concours guests will get an up-close look at 22 judged classes of exceptional vehicles representing the finest in quality, marque variability and uniqueness, event organizers stated in a press release. The 200 exceptionally rare automobiles on display along the Crystal Springs 18th fairway will represent almost every genre and marque, including hot rods, restomods, muscle cars, hypercars, and grand touring elegant classic pre- and post-war luxury models.
Weekend of Festivities Kicks Off Friday Night
Beginning on Friday night, June 26, the annual “Start Your Engines” kick-off party will be held at an exclusive private estate in Hillsborough. The following morning, over 100 cars will join the annual Hillsborough Tour d’Elegance road rally, which will navigate the Bay Area’s most scenic back roads. On Sunday, the 70th annual Hillsborough Concours d’Elegance will complete the weekend of festivities.
Partnering with the Town of Hillsborough, the all-volunteer Hillsborough Concours Foundation organizes this annual event, which raises proceeds for Ability Path, The Guardsmen, and the Hillsborough Schools Foundation.
