On Dec. 10, 2025, the custom ’63 Cadillac Convertible designed for Häagen-Dazs joined The Vault at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Originally designed as a consumer activation around the brand’s big game debut, the car now stands as an example of boundary-pushing automotive artistry, museum officials stated in a press release.
Over the next year, visitors to The Vault, home to more than 300 rare and historic automobiles, will have the opportunity to see the Cadillac up close as part of the museum’s celebrated collection.
Created in collaboration with the world-renowned custom car builders at West Coast Customs, the Cadillac features a burgundy candy paint finish with cream trim, a fully functioning freezer trunk, LED light show, event-quality sound system, and bespoke details from embroidered interiors to a custom cone-holder armrest. Originally designed as a moving celebration of indulgence and craft, the car was meticulously reimagined as the “ultimate ice cream vehicle,” blending automotive innovation with an iconic design, noted the release.

“This Cadillac represents an embodiment of our belief that every detail should be savored,” said Rachel Jaiven, head of Häagen-Dazs marketing. “By partnering with West Coast Customs and now donating it to the Petersen Museum, we’re celebrating creativity, quality and craftsmanship.”
The Häagen-Dazs Cadillac Will Be Auctioned After One Year
Following a year on display, the Cadillac will be auctioned with proceeds directed to Petersen’s education initiatives. Funds raised will help expand access to hands-on opportunities, such as sponsoring museum visits for underserved students and inspiring the next generation of creators to embrace their craft, museum officials said.
“We’re honored to add the Häagen-Dazs Cadillac to our collection,” said Terry L. Karges, executive director of the Petersen Automotive Museum. “Beyond its striking design, this donation helps us continue our mission of advancing automotive education, ingenuity and preservation.”

By donating the Cadillac, Häagen-Dazs says that it extends its tradition of artistry and storytelling beyond the ice cream aisle, creating opportunities for audiences to connect with the brand in unexpected and meaningful ways. The partnership also highlights the role of brands and institutions working together to preserve cultural icons, ensuring that unique creations like the Häagen-Dazs Cadillac can be experienced and enjoyed.
