39th Goodguys West Coast Nationals Set for Alameda County Fairgrounds
More than 3,000 classic cars & trucks will converge on Pleasanton, California, for Goodguys' biggest event of the season…
Goodguys Rod & Custom Association is gearing up for its crown jewel event of the season: the 39th West Coast Nationals, officials stated in a press release. The event takes place Aug. 21-23 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, California, bringing together over 3,000 classic cars and trucks.
What to Expect at the Event
The West Coast Nationals is open to 1999 and older specialty vehicles, including vintage hot rods, lowriders, muscle cars, classic trucks and customs. The three-day event features cruising, a Vendor’s Midway filled with well-known names in hot rodding parts and services, a giant swap meet, and the Cars 4-Sale Corral. The three indoor car show areas include a Chopped Top Showcase presented by Deadend Worldwide.
The event also includes the Pinstriper’s Brush Bash, the Summit Racing Nitro Thunderfest exhibition, live music, the Goodgal’s Arts and Crafts Gallery, and more. At the Goodguys AutoCross, drivers will compete to qualify for the Wilwood’s West Coast Shootout title on Saturday afternoon.
Meguiar’s All-American Sunday is open to all years of American-made or powered specialty vehicles and features the All-American Shootout on the autocross track.
Top 12 of the Year Awards & More
On Saturday, participants compete for a regional finalist position in the Goodguys Top 12 of the Year Awards presented by BASF, including the Snap-on Muscle Car, Vintage Air Custom Rod, LMC Truck (Early), Scotts Hotrods ‘N Customs Custom, Griot’s Garage Muscle Machine, Roadster Shop 4×4, and Dakota Digital Truck of the Year (Late). There are also over 80 other unique awards available, including the Builders Choice Top 10 being selected by Roseville Rod & Custom and six unique Memorial Awards.
Gary Meadors Memorial Hot Rod Week
Leading up to the show, Goodguys will host the Gary Meadors Memorial Hot Rod Week with daily road trips around the greater Bay Area. All registered participants of the show are invited to attend, and the daily road trips start on Tuesday, Aug. 18, with tours leaving the host hotel at 9 a.m. every day.
