Gibson Technology Gets Recognized for Race Engine

Gibson Technology was given the Race Engine Designer of the Year award for its GK428 LMP2 engine at Race Technology Magazine’s World Motorsport Symposium.

Gibson Technology, based in the United Kingdom, was chosen by the FIA/ACO as the single engine supplier for LMP2 class sportscars from 2017 to 2020. Gibson designed, developed and manufactured its 4.2 liter V-8 engine, supplying all LMP2 teams in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), Le Mans 24 Hours, European Le Mans Series (ELMS), as well as various teams in the USA IMSA Weathertech Championship.

“After such a great season with our GK428 engine the Gibson team is extremely pleased to have our hard work and commitment recognised with this award,” said John Manchester, Gibson’s operations director. “The award is testament to everyone at our manufacturing facility at Repton.”
