Formula E Reveals Record 21-Race 2026-27 Calendar Ahead of GEN4 Debut

As preparations for the next chapter of electric motorsport continue, the FIA Formula E World Championship has unveiled a record-breaking schedule for the 2026-27 season featuring 21 races across 13 global destinations, officials from the Kiro Rac Co racing team said in a press release.

The upcoming 2026-27 campaign marks the start of a new era for Formula E with the debut of the state-of-the-art GEN4, the most revolutionary Formula E car to date, featuring 600kW of power (815 horsepower), active all-wheel-drive and 700kW regenerative braking capabilities.

The World Championship’s longest season to date will open with a double-header event at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on Dec. 18-19 before heading to the Americas in the New Year.

The Mexico City E-Prix, held at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, will be the site of Round 3 on Jan. 16, 2027, with an all-new race held at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, following on Feb. 6, 2027. The new race in Austin marks the first of two home races for Kiro Race Co, with the American squad returning to Florida for the Miami E-Prix on Feb. 20, 2027. The São Paulo E-Prix will conclude the American phase of the season on March 13, 2027.

The Sanya E-Prix, which saw Kiro Race Co finish on the podium in 2026, will return on April 17, 2027, ahead of a five-event European leg, beginning with the double-header Berlin E-Prix on May 8-9.

Formula E will then return to Monaco for two races on May 15-16, 2027, and then head to the United Kingdom for an all-new double-header event at the legendary Brands Hatch Circuit on May 29-30, 2027.

June 18-19, 2027, will see Formula E make its debut in the Netherlands with a double-header event at Zandvoort, with Jarama hosting the two-race Madrid E-Prix on June 26-27, 2027.

The season concludes in Asia, with the Shanghai International Circuit in China hosting the penultimate event of the season on July 10-11, 2027, while Tokyo will be the site of the finale on July 24-25, 2027.

New GEN4 Race Format Introduces E-Prix Unleashed

In addition to the arrival of the GEN4 car and new races at the Circuit of the Americas, Brands Hatch and Zandvoort, a new race format will also be introduced for the 2026-27 season. For Season 13, double-header race weekends will feature a classic race (E-Prix) and an all-new shorter race (E-Prix Unleashed), designed to showcase the full unrestricted performance of the GEN4 car while offering two vastly different racing experiences across the weekend.
