Formula DRIFT Signs Sponsorship Extension With GT Radial
Tire maker will sponsor the series through 2028 & provide tires to PROSPEC teams through 2026…
Following a successful 2024 racing season that saw GT Radial finish second in the Formula DRIFT Tire Cup and continue to provide spec tires to the entire FD PROSPEC Championship, the tire company has extended its existing sponsorship deal with the high-profile drift series.
Under the new contract, GT Radial will sponsor Formula DRIFT through 2028 and continue to provide tires to every PROSPEC team through 2026.
The new agreement brings continuity and stability to both championships, particularly PROSPEC, where teams will be able to continue to development their drift programs and cars knowing what to budget and the level of performance they can expect, officials noted in a press release announcing the partnership.
“The contract extension between Formula DRIFT and GT Radial is great news for the entire series, especially the teams using their tires. However, it extends beyond that because it ensures competition on the track, which keeps the series exciting for teams and fans,” said Ryan Sage, president of Formula DRIFT.
GT Radial plans to announce its 2025 Formula DRIFT PRO Championship partnerships early in 2025. The company is currently talking to several teams and hopes to make an even bigger impact on next year’s title race, the announcement stated.

With a refreshed driver lineup for 2025, we aim to not only contend for another Tire Manufacturer’s Championship but also secure our first-ever Driver’s Championship! Our Champiro SX2 tire—which we proudly make in the USA—has proved itself a top contender and we look forward to four more years of top-level Formula DRIFT competition.”
The GT Radial brand, manufactured and marketed by Giti Tire, has been sold in the U.S. for more than 25 years. Comprehensive offerings of GT Radial passenger, light truck and commercial truck tires are available across North America through retailers and independent tires dealers.
The 2025 Formula DRIFT season will begin on the streets of Long Beach on April 4-5.
