Finish Line Auto Club, a premier private auto country club delivering secure, amenity-rich environments for collectors, recently marked the completion of its new Costa Mesa location—its third for collectors in Southern California. The celebration including a gathering of nearly 100 vintage Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwings.

Overlooking the John Wayne Airport, the 100,000-square-foot Costa Mesa Finish Line Auto Club location features 40 luxury garage condominiums on its 4-acre campus. Highlights include a rooftop bar and pavilion for members and guests.

Designed as a community and not just a destination, the Costa Mesa campus reflects the company’s vision of creating a facility where collectors and enthusiasts can transform garages into private car galleries, personal retreats, and extensions of the home, according to officials. Founded by commercial real estate professionals Tony Principe and Rick Principe, each Finish Line location reflects their decades of expertise developing commercial properties while intersecting with their deep passion for car collecting.

Finish Line Auto Club provides members with a private, resort-style environment with a vibrant social schedule of thoughtfully curated car events. Within each location, members enjoy dazzling architecture, first-class convenience, state-of-the-art security and curated spaces customized to fit each member’s tastes while celebrating car culture at the highest level.

Gullwings Soar

As part of the Costa Mesa festivities, Finish Line Auto Club hosted a historic gathering bringing together the country’s largest gathering of Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing and Roadster models ever assembled in North America. The highly exclusive, one-of-a-kind automotive showcase brought together members and guests to take in and enjoy some of the rarest examples of Silver Star classics in the world.

“The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is one of the most celebrated cars in history, and to enjoy so many significant examples of them gathered in one location is truly special,” said Tony Principe, co-founder and managing partner of Finish Line Auto Club. “At Finish Line Auto Club, our goal is to always create places where automotive passion can be experienced together as part of the collector community that we have carefully created among members. What we have built in Costa Mesa is a blueprint on how we celebrate car culture by combining exceptional customer service with first-class, amenity-rich projects. We couldn’t be more excited to bring this same high energy and design philosophy to new members at future locations across the country.”

Finish Line plans to break ground in mid-2026 on its largest facility yet, a 200,000-square-foot campus planned across more than 10 acres in Scottsdale, Arizona, complete with a new, elevated condominium concept operating alongside a separate car storage and event facility.
