EnerSys Marks 20 Years of BIGFOOT 4×4 Partnership

EnerSys Marks 20 Years of BIGFOOT 4x4 Partnership | THE SHOPEnerSys, the manufacturer of ODYSSEY batteries, is celebrating its 20-year partnership with BIGFOOT 4×4 Inc, the company announced. As an exclusive sponsor, ODYSSEY batteries are installed in all vehicles featured in the BIGFOOT Monster Truck racing and display program, which includes the company’s entire fleet of monster trucks, haulers and show vehicles.

“As ODYSSEY battery is set to celebrate its 25th Anniversary this year, it has also met another impressive milestone of 20 great years partnering with BIGFOOT 4×4,” said Dave McMullen, senior director of marketing, transportation & specialty at EnerSys. “Our two-decade-long relationship with BIGFOOT validates the dependability, grit and performance of ODYSSEY batteries, even in the most extreme environments like a monster truck race. We look forward to continuing our prosperous partnership with BIGFOOT for many more years to come.”

The ODYSSEY battery logo can be seen on all of the BIGFOOT monster trucks, transporters, crew shirts, hero cards and BIGFOOT novelty items. Among the highlights of the 20-year partnership is the 2012 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, where BIGFOOT #20 was unveiled in the ODYSSEY battery booth as the world’s first battery-powered monster truck. Powered with a total of 36 ODYSSEY batteries, BIGFOOT #20 is a 500-horsepower vehicle with more than 450 foot-pounds of torque. It is capable of running and crushing cars for more than 30 minutes before needing to be charged.

“When we first started using ODYSSEY batteries back in 2001, it didn’t take us long to figure out that these are the best batteries on the market, then and now,” said Bob Trent, vice president and chief operating officer at BIGFOOT 4×4 Inc. “In today’s world, it’s not easy to maintain such long-term relationships, but when the partnership is beneficial and fun for both parties, success is almost guaranteed.”
