Electric, V8 Mustang Cobra Jets to Race Head-to-Head

The all-electric Ford Performance Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 and its supercharged V8 counterpart will be racing head-to-head at the AMALIE Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals, the NHRA announced.

The two vehicles previously faced off at the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA U.S. Nationals earlier this year with Funny Car competitors Bob Tasca III and Tony Pedregon behind the wheel. The all-electric Cobra Jet 1400 squared off against its equally powerful supercharged 5.2L Coyote V8 twin and ran the quarter-mile at 8.680 seconds at 162.84 mph.
