Dixie 4 Wheel Drive to Close Moab Facility

Dixie 4 Wheel Drive, a Utah-based off-road shop, will close its Moab, Utah location while continuing to operate out of its shop in St. George, the company announced.

“We have made the difficult decision to close our Moab Dixie 4 Wheel Drive facility,” the shop said in a post on social media. “We opened our Moab location in 2018 and have gained a great appreciation of the Moab area and the long history it has with our industry.”

Shop management cited the area’s small workforce as a reason for the closure.

“The biggest issue for that area is finding and keeping employees in a seasonal tourism-based community with such a high cost of living threshold,” the shop said. “As a family business we have put a strain on the owners as they took turns living in Moab away from their homes and families while running that location.”

The Moab location’s last operating day will be Oct. 29. The company has sold the property to Moab Off Road Compound, which neighbors the shop’s property.
