Desert Power Wagons Reveals One-of-One Hellcat-Powered WC-53

With more than 3,000 hours of meticulous craftsmanship, the reimagining of the prewar Dodge WC-53 incorporates modern performance, luxury & capability…

Desert Power Wagons unveiled its latest one-of-one creation—a completely reimagined WC-53 four-door finished in Pepper Gray Metallic. At the truck’s core lies a supercharged 6.2L Hellcat V-8, delivering over 717 horsepower and 656 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a Randy’s Transmissions heavy-duty TorqueFlite 48RE 4-speed automatic, the power delivery is immediate, relentless and remarkably composed, company officials stated in a press release.

Beneath the surface sits Tisdale Coachworks’ proprietary fully boxed steel ladder frame, forming the backbone of a purpose-built off-road machine. A custom four-link suspension system with King Shocks 3-inch internal bypass coil-overs, remote reservoirs and adjustable compression delivers serious articulation off-road while maintaining surprising composure on pavement, noted the release. A Bulldog Tough 241DHD transfer case provides true shift-on-the-fly capability, backed by 37-inch Toyo Open Country M/T tires wrapped around 18-inch Black Rhino Armory wheels.

A custom trailer, designed to mirror the vehicle’s fit and finish, extends the truck’s capability. Desert Power Wagons says the trailer completes the package in a way few builds ever attempt—it’s not an accessory; it’s part of the statement. In addition, a power-operated tailgate blends modern convenience into a vintage form.

Interior Craftsmanship & Modern Technology

Premium Light Platinum leather wraps front and rear bucket seats, finished in a double-diamond stitch pattern that delivers both comfort and visual impact. Matching door cards and a center console tie the cabin together with a level of craftsmanship that holds its own against today’s finest luxury SUVs, officials stated.

Dakota Digital VHX analog gauges, an Atoto infotainment system and a JL Audio/Rockford Fosgate sound system bring modern connectivity and audio into the cabin, while Vintage Air climate control, power windows, cruise control and a Viper security system with remote start ensure this truck is fully capable.

Every Desert Power Wagon is a one-of-one creation, hand-built in Wilmington, North Carolina. These are not mass-produced vehicles; they’re heirloom-grade machines—engineered to be driven, admired and passed down, the company said.
