PHINIA Inc.—a diversified, industrial supplier and global developer of fuel systems, electrical systems and aftermarket solutions—is celebrating 130 years of its Delco Remy brand. This milestone reflects more than a century of innovation, reliability and trusted performance across commercial vehicle and industrial markets, company officials said in a press release.
For 130 years, Delco Remy has helped power vehicles and equipment operating in some of the most demanding environments. Today, the brand supports original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), commercial fleets and aftermarket customers with advanced starter and alternator technologies engineered for durability, efficiency and uptime, noted the release.
Over the past decade, in the Americas alone, Delco Remy has supplied over 24 million starters and alternators. Its products support applications ranging from medium- and heavy-duty trucks and buses to agricultural, construction, marine, power generation and industrial equipment.
“Reaching 130 years is a testament to the strength of the Delco Remy brand, the performance of our products, the loyalty of our customers and the dedication of our people,” said Mike Coetzee, VP and general manager, Americas, PHINIA. “Through every major trend in the automotive and commercial vehicle industries, Delco Remy has continued to adapt, innovate and deliver the dependable electrical systems our customers rely on every day.”
Under PHINIA, Delco Remy holds 172 patents related to starter and alternator technologies, demonstrating its continued commitment to innovation and product leadership, the company said.
“Delco Remy has consistently demonstrated its ability to evolve and lead through every major transformation in the commercial vehicle industry, and it will remain a cornerstone of PHINIA’s long-term strategy,” said Coetzee. “Starters and alternators will continue to play a critical role across a wide range of applications for the foreseeable future. Demand for internal combustion engine-powered vehicles remains resilient, particularly in heavy-duty and long-haul segments, where electrification still faces significant practical and infrastructure challenges. In response, we are continuing to invest in our portfolio, expand our capabilities, and strategically position Delco Remy to capture growth opportunities in key global markets.”
With manufacturing operations in Brazil and Mexico and a global customer base, Delco Remy is well positioned to support customers for decades to come, officials stated.
