Chevrolet, Fiat Top List of Most Affordable Trucks & SUVs to Insure
Sales of these popular vehicles remain strong.
As the off-road, overlanding and personal light-duty truck markets show no signs of slowing, Mercury Insurance has generated a list of new pickups and SUVs that are the most affordable to insure.
The Chevrolet Colorado and Fiat 500X lead the way, respectively.
“The appeal of trucks and SUVs is that they can handle weekday work commutes as well as weekend excursions,” says Chong Gao, Mercury Insurance director of product management R&D. “New models have fantastic fuel economy for pickups and a variety of sizes to fit your lifestyle. Mercury Insurance wants to let consumers know about which truck or SUV might be the best fit for them and their families.”
Mercury’s research and development team examined 2023 model year trucks and SUVs currently available at car dealerships to compile the lists. Here are the top-10 for each:
