Builds From The Custom Shop Headed to Barrett-Jackson

Flanagan, Illinois-based auto customizer The Custom Shop will see two prominent builds cross the auction block later this month.

A 1961 LS3-powered Corvette restomod and a 1970 Porsche 911 custom coupe will both be up for bid at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2024 event, set for Jan. 20-29 in Arizona.

The Corvette went through the full restomod treatment going back to bare fiberglass, said John Wargo of The Custom Shop. Highlights include a Coffman Chassis, Corvette C6/C7 suspension components and billet tri-bar-style wheels.

Completed in September 2023 and named Best of Show Modifieds winner at the Corvette Nationals the following month, the ’Vette will be auctioned at Scottsdale as lot No. 1431.

  • 6.2L LS3
  • L70E 4-speed transmission
  • Thumpr cam
  • Adjustable ride height with RideTech coil-overs
  • Powder-coated frame
  • Wilwood 6-piston front calipers
  • Holley wiring harness & computer
  • Dakota Digital gauges
  • ProSpray Pearl White Tricoat & light blue paintwork
  • Matching original hardtop
Porsche 911 from The Custom Shop
A 1970 Porsche 911 coupe from The Custom Shop will be up for bid at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson event in Arizona.

Meanwhile, the Porsche also utilizes LS3 power and required many custom modifications to fit the V-8 engine in the rear of the widebody 911.

Created as a custom build for the SEMA SHow, it features a custom race cage, diffuser, rear wing and rocker panels, and sits on three-piece Forgeline 19-inch custom wheels. The car will be available at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale as lot No. 1296.
