Beaver Special Racing Launches Nonprofit to Train Future Engineers & Mechanics
First-of-its-kind program to help aspiring engineers & manufacturers by providing scholarships, internships, mentorship & hands-on training opportunities…
Beaver Special Racing sprint car racing team announced today the launch of its nonprofit program, The Beaver Racing Project. The project aims to build a talent pipeline for aspiring engineers and manufacturers by providing scholarships, internships, mentorship and hands-on training opportunities within the racing and skilled‑trade industries.
About The Beaver Racing Project
Modeled after the family-owned and operated Beaver Special Racing Team’s tradition of engaging young people in sprint car development and performance, the program opens doors for future careers in the skilled trades that support sprint car racing, race team officials stated in a press release. Selected applicants will be supported as they work directly with parts manufacturers and engineers across the country. At the same time, they will earn money that allows them to chase their passion in the sprint car racing industry.
“We approach this project in the same way we approach our own racing team: By building up the next generation of talent and giving them opportunities to learn the craft that makes sprint car racing the sport we live and breathe,” said Samantha Vielhauer, team manager of Beaver Special Racing.
The team’s legacy of competitive national racing is a testament to a long-standing commitment to excellence, innovation and the growth of sprint car racing, noted the release. Today, Beaver Racing backs a top emerging driver competing in POWRi, World of Outlaws, and other major sprint car series as they chase podiums and championships across the country.
Applicants, Partners & Sponsors
The Beaver Racing Project says that it is currently seeking program applicants, as well as participating manufacturers and sponsors around the country to grow the program’s impact across the entire racing community.
“Everyone in the racing industry understands the value that smart, innovative and reliable engineers and mechanics provide to a racing team, and there are fewer and fewer of them each year,” said Billy Vielhauer, owner of Beaver Special Racing. “This program will support the entire racing community from the young people looking to get in to the legacy team managers looking to find reliable partners for the future.”
