Avery Dennison Partners With Skin Cancer Foundation on Mobile Screening RV
The state-of-the-art, 38-foot RV wrapped in Avery Dennison films & UV-protective window tints will travel to 40 cities this year to provide free skin cancer screenings…
May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and skin cancer is America’s most common form of cancer, with more than five million cases diagnosed in the United States each year. It’s also one of the most preventable cancers. That’s why Avery Dennison has partnered with The Skin Cancer Foundation to encourage people to check their skin for warning signs and reduce long-term exposure to the sun’s harmful rays, company officials stated in a press release.
The partnership features two major elements:
- The Foundation’s mobile education and screening program, “Destination Healthy Skin,” features a traveling recreational vehicle that will travel across the country to provide free skin cancer screenings. The in-kind printed graphics and window film sponsor, Avery Dennison, provided all the materials to wrap the vehicle.
- Avery Dennison will also support the organization’s Skin Cancer Foundation Partner Panel at 9:30 am on Wednesday, May 13, at 601 Lexington Avenue, New York, New York. Themed “Fighting Skin Cancer From Every Angle,” the panel will provide a deep dive on sunscreen and skincare, UPF clothing and physicians. David Korvah, marketing manager at Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions, will provide perspective on window film and its role in skin protection.

About the “Destination Healthy Skin” RV
Equipped with private exam rooms, the mobile unit allows volunteer dermatologists to perform free, full-body screenings, provide early detection and prevention information, and distribute free sunscreen products, noted the release.
Over the next seven months, it will travel thousands of miles to host “Destination Healthy Skin” events in 40 cities. Since the program’s launch, the RV has provided 34,000 free skin cancer screenings, identified more than 13,700 potential skin cancers, and provided free sun protection products to more than 116,000 people.
The state-of-the-art 38-foot RV features a blue/green ombre printed design on Avery Dennison wrapping films and UV-protective window tints—all of which were installed by Chicago Wrap, a wide-format print production firm and commercial wrap shop based in Aurora, Illinois. The window tint films offer up to 99% UV protection and carry The Skin Cancer Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation for effective sun protection, the company said.

“Skin cancer is a relentless disease that strikes one in five people by age 70,” said Korvah. “We’re dedicated to providing meaningful solutions for sun safety. As our commitment to raising awareness about skin cancer continues to grow, so does the Avery Dennison portfolio of sun-shielding products.”
