Driving a 1,400-HP Ford F1 Race Truck

In a recent episode of Top Gear American Tuned, host Rob Dahm gets behind the wheel of “Old Smokey,” a 1,400-hp 1949 Ford F1 race truck built by Scott Birdsall.

Powered by a 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine with a compound turbo from Freedom Racing Engines and riding on a full racing suspension, the truck behaves less like a pickup and more like a GT car.
