Velocity Modern Classics Reveals 1970 Ford F-250 Build

Velocity Modern Classics has revealed its latest build in a new line-up of restomod Ford truck models, starting with a 1970 F-250, the company announced.

The truck, rebuilt to be a turnkey driver, pairs a carefully restored body with a custom drivetrain, a Coyote V8 powerplant and a hand-crafted interior with modern creature comforts.

Starting with the Roadstershop RS4 chassis, the truck comes equipped with all-new Dana axles, Dana 44 on the front end and a Dana 60 in the rear, the builder said. To make it more capable off-road and maintain ride quality, the F-250 features custom-valved AFCO shocks. The truck is stopped by a Hydraboost-assisted set of Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes.

The Velocity F-250 is powered by a Ford Performance 5.0-liter Coyote V8 crate engine combined with custom-built exhaust system and a proprietary serpentine belt system. Moving everything along is an automatic transmission with overdrive and an Atlas II transfer case to allow for an easy change to 4-Wheel-Drive.

The interior and exterior of the pickup have been reimagined to incorporate modern features, but maintain the classic look, the company said. The exterior of the truck features custom paint and JW Speaker LED headlights. The F-250 rides on 33-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires wrapped around 18-inch paint-matched wheels. All-new glass and weather seals and California-style side view mirrors complete the exterior features.

Inside the cabin, Velocity has created an interior that includes a custom bench seat made from premium leather, a Velocity-exclusive Dakota Digital gauge cluster and a custom dash. Sound comes through a bluetooth-enabled Retro Sound Huntington head unit and routes music through a Kicker Audio sound system with a subwoofer. Modern climate control is handled through a Vintage Air system and the truck is driven by a GT Performance steering wheel attached to the Ididit tilt column.

“The Velocity F-250 is a representation of an incredible, innovative team that brought an idea to life with inspired renderings, calculated visions and passion. Velocity is run by a group of individuals that are consumed with bringing classic restoration artistry to the modern world,” said Cody Dabney, director of custom vehicle operations. “The F-250 High Roller is the pinnacle of our new F-series Heritage Edition and a beautiful addition to our signature series. We can’t wait to see it on the road.”
