Velocity Modern Classics Adds 1967-72 F-100 to Lineup

Velocity Modern Classics has added a 1967-72 F-100 model to its Velocity Signature Series lineup of classic F-series trucks, the restoration outfit announced.

With several key upgrades, the Velocity F-100 is engineered to retain its vintage feel while still boasting modern performance and reliability, Velocity designers said. Key features include a Coyote V8 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission all mounted to a Roadster Shop chassis, along with a Vintage Air climate-control system and a RetroSound Bluetooth stereo. Velocity also offers a variety of paint and trim options, as well as other optional upgrades for customers to choose from.

The Velocity F-100 is powered by a Ford Performance Gen III 5.0L Coyote V8, making 460 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque paired with a Ford 10R80 automatic transmission. Velocity’s proprietary serpentine system keeps things moving under the hood, and a custom-built exhaust gives the F-100 a distinct rumble. Everything rides on a Roadster Shop F-100 chassis with front and rear Fox coilovers. The truck also comes equipped with an independent front suspension and a Ford 9-inch rear axle with a 3.73 gear ratio. Baer four-piston calipers with 13-inch rotors provide stopping power.

For the exterior, Velocity’s designers maintained the original look of the truck while adding several modern components, the company said. JW Speaker LED headlights set into the chrome grille illuminate the street at night, while 245/50R18 Michelin tires grip the road wrapped around 18-inch alloy wheels. Custom BASF Glasurit paint, chrome bumpers and all-new glass and weather seals complete the look.

Velocity’s interior begins with a custom bench seat, a Velocity-exclusive Dakota Digital gauge cluster, power windows and a carpeted interior. Sound comes through a Bluetooth-enabled RetroSound Huntington head unit that routes music through a Focal speaker system. Modern climate control is handled by Vintage Air. A classic wood steering wheel attaches to an Ididit tilt column.

In addition to the standard Signature Edition, Velocity offers a more premium Street Edition trim. It includes performance upgrades such as two-way adjustable Fox coilovers, larger six-piston calipers with 14-inch rotors for additional stopping power, and 19-inch front and 20-inch rear Forgeline wheels wrapped in 255/45ZR19 front and 295/40ZR20 rear Michelin tires.

The exterior of the Street Edition sets itself apart with two-toned BASF Glasurit paint options, vintage-inspired beltline trim, color-matched Raptor Liner bed liner and custom-machined exterior billet components, including door handles, side mirrors, hood badging and tailgate handle, Velocity said.

Inside, the bench seat is stitched with premium leather, which also wraps the Sparc Industries steering wheel. The interior also gets the billet treatment with door handles, window cranks, window pulls and dash knobs, all machined by Velocity. Lastly, the radio is swapped with an Alpine double-din head unit and a backup camera is added for additional safety.
