The annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is this weekend, so what better time to look back at the all-electric Volkswagen I.D. R’s record-setting run from 2018?
Piloted by Romain Dumas, the I.D. R became the first car—gas or electric—to break the 8-minute mark during the “Race to the Clouds” with a final time of 7:57.148 up the 156-turn, 12.42-mile course.
