2017-19 JEEP CHEROKEE
Vehicles Affected: Parent company Stellantis is recalling approximately 63,000 model-year 2017-19 Jeep Cherokees.
The Problem: According to the automaker, there may be an input shaft snap ring in the PTU of these vehicles that may malfunction, thereby allowing movement and leading to premature wear of the range shift sleeve or damage to the spline or range fork. This defect can cause an unexpected loss of drive power or loss of the Park function when the vehicle is not in motion.
The Fix: A remedy is still under development, but the automaker will notify owners starting Feb. 13.
