Himalaya Introduces New Defender 130 Truck

Himalaya 4×4 recently unveiled a new silver custom Defender 130 truck with an engine upgrade and entirely new modern suspension set-up, the restoration outfit announced.

“Our new Himalaya 4×4 130 truck perfectly encapsulates the capabilities of our production team. We expertly constructed everything for a client who enjoys outdoor adventures, so they needed a truck capable of taking them anywhere. We incorporated the best of the best in terms of engine, suspension, braking, and handling to create the perfect summer rig,” comments Himalaya 4×4 President Greg Shondel. “Even with all of the off-road build consideration, we take great care to ensure that our vehicles are able to comfortably serve as daily drivers out on modern day roads. Making sure these vintage Rovers are up to the task of serving our clients’ needs in modern driving conditions is a key aspect of what we do. Anyone in the cabin of this new 130 behind the wheel will feel like they’re in a modern luxury vehicle, all with a look and feel that represents the very best of the vintage Defender aesthetic.”

Sporting a Cummins R2.8 Turbo Diesel engine, the new Himalaya 4×4 130 is also equipped with a custom-built four-link coilover suspension and Dynatrac axles. Brembo Disc Brakes provide stopping power.

The truck rides on Black Rhino 18-inch wheels with BF Goodrich performance tires. Limited slip front and rear differentials further enhance traction. Custom Himalaya 4×4 rock sliders with power folding side steps help protect the custom 130’s undercarriage along with a specially-built wiring harness. Himalaya also implemented bespoke-built fender flares and a new front bumper alongside a winch and a silver exterior colorway.

Himalaya 4×4 took great attention recreating the Defender 130’s interior, the company said, implementing a two-tone leather wrapped cabin with an exclusively-designed center console. A custom JL Audio system provides sound, while a modern HVAC system is also incorporated for comfort. Dakota Digital Gauges and a classic Land Rover puma-style dashboard complete the interior.
