E.C.D. Automotive Design Debuts ‘Project Pivot’

E.C.D. Automotive Design (E.C.D.) has debuted its latest convertible Land Rover Defender 110 build. Named Project Pivot, the LS3 Defender is painted a fiery orange and was designed to optimize tailgates and rides around town.

“Our clients push the limits of their imaginations to come up with inventive custom Defenders that break the rules of traditional automotive companies,” said E.C.D. CEO and co-founder Scott Wallace. “As we approach our 500th build, we want to continue inspiring our clients to design their ultimate fantasy car and test our boundaries of what we can build at E.C.D.”

Painted a glossy orange, the soft top Defender is color matched to Subaru Sunshine Orange and has a matching orange grille and inserts, light surrounds, hinges and vents. On top, the powerful convertible Defender has a black roof to match its black 16-inch Sawtooth wheels and BF Goodrich All Terrain tires. In the back, the build removed the traditional swing-away tire carrier in favor of convenience for tailgates.

Project Pivot’s interior is also modern, with tan leather accents throughout. In the front, the original Defender has upgraded and heated Exmoor Modular seats with horizontal stitching and a custom center console. The Puma dash features a black MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, vintage gauges and a touchscreen radio system. Toward the rear, the classic Defender’s two jump seats are both mounted on the passenger side, leaving plenty of space to haul the whole family and gear for a good time. Other entertainment features include a high-tech JL Audio sound system, CarPlay, Bluetooth and two USB ports.
