Lubrication Specialties Inc. Wins Better Business Bureau of Central Ohio Award
Lubrication Specialties Inc. (LSI), an automotive lubricant manufacturing business, received the 2020 Torch Award for Ethics by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Central Ohio. The awards presentation occurred on Nov. 18 and was streamed live by local channel NBC4.
The BBB established the Torch Awards program in 1994 as an annual awards program to publicly recognize companies nationwide that institute practices designed to elevate their commitment to the highest standard of ethical business. The BBB distilled it’s focus on trust and ethics into four C’s – Character, Culture, Customers and Community. These four values are the basis for the award nomination process. Entries are evaluated based on the company’s commitment to ethics, communications of ethical practices, organizational commitment to ethical practice, performance management and ethical human resource practices in addition to a commitment to community. Sixteen finalists based in Central Ohio were evaluated by an independent, voluntary panel of judges comprised of business and community leaders. LSI was chosen for the award along with six other organizations for building trust in business and community.
LSI founder and CEO, Chris Gabrelcik, has shown a personal commitment to a diverse number of organizations and nonprofits, the company says. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic LSI modified their production line to manufacture and donate hand sanitizer to healthcare workers, professional truck drivers and local ministries that provide aid to other countries in need. The company has also provided support to local schools, churches, businesses, racetracks, senior citizens and veterans. Because of the company’s broad range of charitable efforts and established ethical practices set by top leadership, LSI was honored this year.
“We are proud to honor Lubrication Specialties as one of our 2020 Torch Award Recipients. By working with their employees to help them define and achieve their career goals, they show their commitment and dedication to continually improving and building their company’s culture of trust,” said Kip Morse, president & CEO of BBB serving Central Ohio.
