Magnuson Products Brings Supercharger Production In-House
After previously outsourcing various machining processes, Magnuson Products have brought most of the production of their superchargers in-house.
Magnuson has purchased eight CNC mills, three lathes and four seats of Mastercam CAD/CAM software from CNC Software Inc. in Tolland, Connecticut to power their Ventura, California facility. Nine machinists produce roughly 3,000 to 4,000 parts per month with 80% to 90% of all products produced at the facility in two shifts per day.
With the help of their IATF16949 certification, the company says, Magnuson has entered the direct OEM market. It recently joined the General Motors COPO Racing program, supplying the superchargers to GM factory production race cars.
