Ultra4 Racing To Host Industry Stakeholders Meeting at Kentucky Thunderdome

Ultra4 Racing is heading to the mountains of Hazard, Kentucky, and inviting racers, manufacturers, promoters, media and industry leaders to help shape the future of East Coast off-road racing, company officials stated in a press release.

As part of the Terra Trophy MAXXIS 48 Hours of Kentucky Rally weekend taking place June 10–14, 2026, Ultra4 Racing will host an Industry Stakeholders Meeting from 7–8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, at the newly developed Thunderdome facility in Perry County.

The meeting is designed as an open discussion and collaborative planning session surrounding the future development of the Thunderdome venue and the upcoming Ultra4 USA Nationals event scheduled for October 14–18, 2026, noted the release.

Rather than showcasing a finalized racecourse, the June gathering is intended to give racers, builders and industry professionals an opportunity to experience the terrain firsthand, preview the facility concept, and provide direct feedback to Ultra4 USA officials as construction and course development continue.

A Repurposed Mining Site for Off-Road Racing

The Thunderdome is a purpose-built venue that sits inside a repurposed high-wall mining site and represents a bold vision for off-road motorsports in Appalachia. Organizers believe the project has the potential to become a major destination for racing, tourism, outdoor recreation and economic development in Eastern Kentucky.

The stakeholder meeting will bring together racers, manufacturers, event organizers, tourism leaders, sponsors, media partners and local officials to discuss the long-term vision for the facility and the role Kentucky could play in the future of Ultra4 Racing on the East Coast.

Venue Evaluation & Media Session

From 5–7 p.m., the Thunderdome facility will host a Terra Trophy-led evaluation and media session open to registered Terra Trophy participants and invited Ultra4 teams. Drivers with properly safety-equipped vehicles can participate in controlled laps throughout portions of the developing venue while engaging directly with Ultra4 USA officials onsite.

The session is intended to help evaluate terrain, spectator visibility, racing flow, accessibility and overall venue potential as officials continue designing the future race layout and event infrastructure. Ultra4 cars, prerunners, rally trucks, short course vehicles, and capable off-road race vehicles are all encouraged to attend, officials said.

The June showcase takes place alongside the MAXXIS 48 Hours of Kentucky hosted by Terra Trophy, a 500-plus mile off-road endurance rally for street-legal vehicles traversing Kentucky’s rugged backroads, trail systems and off-road parks.

Officials say Wednesday’s downtown gathering in Hazard is intended to be a casual Terra Trophy meetup in the heart of the city. Participants will stage vehicles throughout the downtown area, giving locals and visitors an opportunity to walk the streets, meet drivers, explore the builds and experience the off-road community firsthand.

The meetup will serve as the official kickoff to the weekend before teams head to the Thunderdome facility for the evening’s collaborative preview and stakeholder discussions.
