McLaren Automotive Appoints Kemal Curic as Chief Design Officer

McLaren Automotive announced the appointment of Kemal Curic as chief design officer, effective from April 2026. Curic has joined McLaren Automotive’s executive leadership team and will be responsible for shaping the design vision and creative direction of the McLaren Automotive portfolio, company officials stated in a press release.

Curic brings more than two decades of global automotive design experience, with a career spanning performance and luxury vehicles. He joins McLaren from Ford Motor Company, where he most recently served as global design director for Performance Vehicles, overseeing some of the industry’s most iconic performance designs, noted the release.

At McLaren Automotive, Curic will lead all design functions, including interiors, exteriors, CMF and digital design, working closely with engineering and product strategy teams to ensure McLaren continues to define the highest standards in lightweight, high-performance and emotionally engaging luxury cars, the company said.

Throughout his career, Curic has been recognized for successfully evolving iconic cars while staying true to their heritage. McLaren says his deep understanding of performance DNA and ability to balance innovation and brand authenticity make him an exceptional addition.
