AACF Presented With $10,000 Donation at The Source Foundation Annual Charity Golf Outing
The event brought together community members, industry friends & supporters for a memorable day in the spirit of generosity…

The Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) was one of three charities recognized at The Source Foundation Annual Charity Golf Outing, held at the historic Portage Country Club in Akron, Ohio. As part of its commitment to giving back, The Source Foundation presented AACF with a $10,000 donation to help continue its mission of providing financial assistance and resources to individuals and families from the automotive aftermarket industry facing sudden and severe hardship.
AACF executive director John Kairys attended the event, spending the day on the course connecting with participants and making introductions on behalf of the Foundation, company officials stated in a press release.
The AACF foursome, sponsored by Tuffy Tire and Auto Service, featured Jon Owens (AACF president), Jim Merle (Babcox Media), Ted Hughes (AWDA) and Aaron Suffoletto (Suff Group, a Tuffy franchisee).
The missions of AACF and The Source Foundation share a common purpose: stepping in when individuals and families face unexpected challenges. By working together, both charitable organizations amplify their reach and impact, ensuring that more people receive the help they need, noted the release.
“We are proud to support organizations like AACF that are truly making an impact,” said TJ White, representing The Source Foundation. “Our annual outing is about more than just a great day of golf—it’s about rallying our community to change lives, and AACF embodies that spirit.”
Ohio Tire & Automotive Association and Auto-Wares Companies Fundraising Golf Tournaments
In addition to The Source Foundation, the Ohio Tire & Automotive Association (OTAA) and Auto-Wares Companies also hosted fundraising golf tournaments this summer in support of AACF. The three partners raised a combined $15,000 to bring hope and relief to industry families in crisis.
“This recognition from our supporters means so much to us,” said Kairys. “Whether through The Source Foundation, OTAA or Auto-Wares, their generosity directly helps industry professionals and their families in their time of need. We are grateful to stand alongside organizations that share our mission of making a real difference.”
Jon Owens, AACF president, emphasized the importance of these partnerships: “Events like this remind us how powerful our community can be when we come together. Collaborations between organizations like AACF and our generous supporters make it possible to respond faster and more effectively to those who are struggling. We are deeply grateful to The Source Foundation for their continued support. It’s been an honor to partner with them.”
Organizations interested in hosting a fundraiser or companies looking to engage employees in charitable giving are encouraged to reach out and let AACF support their efforts.
The Bob Schoeberl Memorial Golf Tournament
AACF will be hosting its own fundraising golf tournament on Nov. 3 in Las Vegas prior to Industry Week. AACF says the Bob Schoeberl Memorial Golf Tournament blends world-class golf, industry networking and a powerful purpose: to raise critical funds for aftermarket families facing financial hardship due to illness, accident or life-altering crisis.
