New Arkansas Truck-Only 4×4 Event Coming in April
Inaugural Truck Offroad Getaway (TOGA) to be held at Hot Springs Off-Road Park...
You and your pickup are invited to the TOGA party.
The AAM Group and Lippert have announced the creation of the industry’s first off-road getaway event just for truck owners. The Truck Offroad Getaway (TOGA) will be held April 19–21 at the Hot Springs Off-Road Park in Arkansas.
Long dominated by Jeep aficionados, the off-road community now has an event focused solely on trucks.
“TOGA aims to change that, with a weekend dedicated to off-road education, adventure and experiences of the truck variety (truck beds required!),” officials stated. “Attendees can expect two action-packed days of training seminars (recovery, towing, etc.), guided trail rides at different challenge levels (basic to advanced), breathtaking scenery, nightly bonfires, food, live music, prize giveaways and the chance to connect with other members of the truck community and the biggest industry brands in a relaxed setting.”
EDUCATION
TOGA will showcase the expertise of two seasoned, respected veterans of the off-road and overlanding scenes.
Mike Morrison, owner of Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures and co-director of education for the Southern Four Wheel Drive Association, and Darren Carden, creator of the Southeast Overland Camping event, will split training duties over the weekend. Their diverse educational curriculum will include Carden’s popular off-road first aid course, among many other pertinent and practical learning opportunities, officials said.
ADVENTURE
Spanning 1,242 acres of off-road trails, the Hot Springs Off-Road Park offers scenic views and rock-crawling terrain for adventurers at every experience level. In addition to the guided trail opportunities, attendees can partake in their own unguided trail rides as desired.
To get into the community-minded spirit of the event, TOGA attendees are encouraged to take advantage of the park’s many camping and RV spots. The nearby Hot Springs National Park Gulpha Gorge Campground also offers camping experiences, and hotel and Airbnb options are available nearby as well.
EXPERIENCE
TOGA provides the opportunity for truck owners to connect and begin creating their own community. Attendees will not only be learning and adventuring together, but also enjoying extra perks offered by the event including bonfires and live music, a nighttime lighting contest, Saturday lunch and community dinner, product giveaways and access to attending representatives from notable off-road and overlanding brands like CURT, Ranch Hand, Rhino-Rack and more.
TOGA is a rain-or-shine event, so whatever the weather, plan to attend and have a good time.
