Turn 14 Distribution Receives Carbon Neutral Certification
Turn 14 Distribution has received Carbon Neutral certification by following International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA) standards, the company announced.
The parts distributor also aims to power its operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025, Turn 14 Distribution said in a statement announcing the certification. The company is challenging those within the automotive aftermarket to analyze what they’re doing to mitigate or offset any carbon footprint so we can continue racing while preserving the world for younger generations.
“Regressing our distribution model or decreasing our support of the racing and aftermarket industries is out of the question. We work to improve our in-house energy usage, recycling methods, and operational emissions to reduce our carbon impact as much as possible. To offset our footprint, we invest in carbon financing of global projects. These projects illustrate how we can take care of our world while continuing to support our industry,” said Erin Robbins, chief operating officer of Turn 14 Distribution.
Turn 14 Distribution has undergone carbon audits for three years to evaluate its impact and offset its footprint through various carbon reduction investments, including contributing to the wind power project in Rivas, Nicaragua, which delivers zero-emissions renewable electricity to the country’s national grid, the company said. Turn 14 Distribution’s investments in carbon financing have also contributed to Delhi’s electric rail systems in India, a gas leak reduction project in Bangladesh, and the Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) forest conservation project in the southern part of Amazonas, Brazil, Turn 14 Distribution representatives said.
