Muscle car restoration specialist Trick Rides debuted its latest custom creation in the TMI Products booth at the 2025 SEMA Show—an all-carbon widebody 1969 Mustang dubbed “Scorched.” Expertly combining cutting-edge technology and the timeless spirit of the iconic muscle car, “Scorched” embodies a new benchmark in craftsmanship, design and innovation, company officials stated in a press release.
Every component of “Scorched” has been designed and built entirely in Trick Rides’ 31,000-square-foot workshop in Yukon, Oklahoma, with more than 8,000 hours of design, fabrication and assembly invested in the build, the company said. Developed from the ground up using state-of-the-art CAD engineering from Brothers Carbon, “Scorched” is constructed from aerospace-grade pre-preg carbon fiber, delivering strength, precision, weight savings and consistency. This approach makes “Scorched” the first Mustang restomod of its kind.
The Widebody ‘69 Mustang Features a Custom Interior by TMI Products
Trick Rides collaborated with TMI Products to design the custom interior featuring TMI’s all-new high-back seating. The cabin is further enhanced with custom AutoMeter gauges, German square-weave carpeting, handcrafted door panels and a bespoke center console, all expertly crafted and installed in the USA, noted the release.
“’Scorched’ represents years of innovation and dedication to blend modern performance with classic Mustang heritage,” said Jason Engel, founder of Trick Rides. “We’ve pushed the boundaries in every aspect of this build, from the all-carbon body to a handcrafted interior by TMI Products, and we’re excited to show the world what Trick Rides is capable of.”
The Power & Performance of ‘Scorched’
Beneath the custom carbon-fiber hood lies a 429-cubic-inch Kaase “Boss Nine” V-8 connected to a TREMEC T-56 six-speed manual transmission. Spent gases exit out of a custom exhaust system using Stainless Works headers and MagnaFlow mufflers. Featured in “Sinister Black,” the vehicle also includes flush-mounted front and rear glass, complemented by Ringbrothers billet aluminum door handles, hinges, mirrors and LED taillights.
“Scorched” rides on a Roadster Shop chassis equipped with independent front suspension and Fox coil-overs, delivering exceptional ride quality and responsiveness. At the rear, a parallel four-link design paired with Roadster Shop oversized sway bars ensures precise handling and stability.
The custom Mustang rolls on three-piece Forgeline wheels wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact Force tires for maximum grip and road-holding capability. Baer Brakes six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers supply exceptional stopping power to match the vehicle’s performance potential.
“From the incredible partners we’ve chosen to work with to the aerodynamics of the carbon fiber, ‘Scorched’ is the result of adding modern engineering to a timeless platform,” added Trick Rides co-owner Jarred Morris. “We set out to build a car that not only looks incredible but performs at a level that rivals today’s high-performance machines.”
Scorched will be limited to a production run of 20 examples, with each buyer having the opportunity to customize key details, including the engine and paint color, officials stated.
