Diagnostic tool company TOPDON USA is joining Formula Drift with a new sponsorship of Federico Sceriffo and his Ferrari. Sceriffo is competing behind the wheel of “Fiorella,” a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano with 1,125 hp.
“Sceriffo is an incredible talent behind the wheel who is passionate about inspiring the next generation of enthusiasts as a professional drifting instructor,” said Chad Schnitz, vice president of TOPDON USA. “We look forward to watching him compete in the 2024 U.S. Formula Drift courses piloting the only turbocharged V12 Ferrari in the series.”
As an official sponsor of Sceriffo’s 2024 Pro Class Formula Drift program, TOPDON will offer financial support as well as with tools and equipment including a diagnostic tester, digital thermal camera, battery tester and jump starter.
FFF Drifting Department was established in 2016 as the drifting team for FFF Racing Group as a consequence of its success in GT racing, which has a rich motorsport history in F1 and D1GP series. FFF Drifting Department’s headquarters are in Varano De’Melegari, Italy, and Atlanta. The team’s staff members have 20-plus years of motorsports experience, primarily in racing leagues around the world.
“I’m excited to welcome TOPDON to the FFF Drifting Department family,” said Sceriffo. “Drifting is highly technical style and incredibly demanding on our race cars. It’s important that ‘Fiorella’ runs with optimum performance, and TOPDON’s diagnostic tools help our crew make that possible. I’m excited about this year’s Formula Drift series and carrying the TOPDON name to the podium.”
Sceriffo started his drifting career in Italy in 2004. A year later, he won a first place podium finish in the Solo Curve di Traverso, the Super Drift Professional Challenge. By 2006, he was competing on the international racing circuit in Cyprus, Russia, China and France. He later joined Team Orange where he raced and trained with one of the pioneers of drifting, Nobushige Kumakubo.
In 2012, Sceriffo won the D1GP International Match in Tokyo Odaiba. In 2018, Sceriffo began competing in the Formula Drift season for the FFF Drifting Department team in a Ferrari 599. In 2019 he earned a double podium at the Formula Drift Grand Prix during the Long Beach Grand Prix.
