Off-road products manufacturer Rago Fabrication has partnered with Doetsch Off-Road to sponsor and contribute to a unique 2024 Land Cruiser overland build to raise money for A Race Against Blindness.

After their son, Luke, was diagnosed with Bardet-Biedl Syndrome (BBS), a rare vision-degenerative disease, Kristina and Steve Johnston founded A Race Against Blindness to raise funding for research and clinical trials focused on treating BBS, blindness, retinitis pigmentosa and other low-vision disorders.

As a way to raise money and awareness, they hold raffles for adventure vans, sports cars, overland trucks and other high-profile builds, according to a press release. One of their current fundraisers is for a 2024 SEMA Overland Land Cruiser.

“We were excited to partner with Doetsch Off-Road to help create this exceptional Land Cruiser build for A Race Against Blindness,” said Daniel Bohler, brand manager for Rago. “It was a pleasure to work with such an amazing charity and generous sponsors. The overland community is known for its willingness to come together and assist those who need a helping hand, and it was inspiring to be a part of such a large group of people who were eager to support Luke and other children fighting to cure their rare low-vision disorders.”

To help complete the build, Rago donated a Land Cruiser front bumper, brush guard, front skid plate, full-width rear bumper, roof rack, decking panels, exterior rear window MOLLE panels, interior rear MOLLE panel system and A-pillar light mounts.

Additionally, the Land Cruiser also features Black Rhino AWOL 17-inch matte black wheels, Dobinsons’ 3-inch coil-over adjustable lift kit, Freespirit Recreation’s Aspen Light rooftop tent, Kammok’s Crosswing awning, KC HiLites’ full lighting package, RotopaX accessories and a Warn Industries EVO 10-S winch.

The Land Cruiser was featured at the 2024 SEMA Show through Doetsch Off-Road to promote the raffle and increase visibility for A Race Against Blindness. The build was widely praised for its exceptional styling, high-end parts and overland capabilities by those who saw it live at the convention, officials noted in the release.

The fundraiser for the 2024 SEMA Overland Land Cruiser went live on Nov. 2 and it is set to end at 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 31.

Rago Fabrication is part of the Horsepower Automotive Group, which also includes aftermarket brands Addictive Desert Designs, DV8 Offroad and Flatline Van Company.
