Downforce Motorsports and Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) announced a new multiyear partnership that will see Downforce Motorsports as the “Official Performance Vehicle Partner of HSR.” The collaboration underscores a shared mission to honor motorsport’s golden eras by celebrating the cars, craftsmanship and stories that continue to define performance today, company officials stated in a press release.

Founded in 2019 by Navy veteran Dan Long, Downforce Motorsports has quickly grown into one of the nation’s largest independent dealerships of Superformance vehicles, including both new and pre-owned GT40s, Cobras, Shelby Daytonas and Corvette Grandsports. With showroom locations in Wisconsin and South Carolina, Downforce Motorsports also serves as an official Shelby American dealer.

Downforce Motorsports has distinguished itself as a trusted marketplace for historic race vehicles and racing heritage-inspired cars with innovative replica race liveries, such as the legendary Ken Miles 1966-designed GT40, and engine packages that range from traditional period-correct builds to modern Ford Performance crate engines like the Aluminator 52XS, noted the release.

Collaboration Between Downforce Motorsports & HSR

Downforce Motorsports is a regular at HSR paddocks, where it competes in its GT40 and showcases its lineup of cars. By placing vehicles on display in the same environment where they race, Downforce says it brings the on-track action to its customer experience. Collaborative features from Downforce Motorsports and HSR will appear in the paddock, on social media and in custom video segments at events.

“Downforce Motorsports and HSR are cut from the same cloth,” Long said. “We are both passionate about celebrating history while driving it forward. Our partnership ensures that the iconic cars we deliver—GT40s, Cobras and Daytonas—are showcased in the most authentic setting possible, surrounded by people who truly understand and appreciate their legacy.”

“HSR welcomes Downforce Motorsports into our growing family of partners,” said John Doonan, HSR president. “Dan and his team embody the spirit of heritage, craftsmanship and performance that defines our paddocks. Their presence not only enhances the experience for our competitors and fans but also connects an affluent, enthusiast-driven audience with some of the most legendary performance cars ever built. This is a natural and exciting collaboration.”
