Truck and SUV products company Dee Zee Inc. is celebrating being named Manufacturer of the Year by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA).
“The SEMA Show is the largest automotive trade event in the world and being recognized as a leader among over 2,200 manufacturers in the automotive industry is a remarkable accomplishment,” the company stated. “It’s a testament to the hard work, dedication and innovation of the entire Dee Zee team.”
Founded in 1977, Dee Zee is a family-owned business that manufactures components and accessories as a Tier 1 supplier for automakers. With a diverse workforce of more than 1,100 employees, its operations span eight facilities in Des Moines and Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
The company also received the Economic Impact Award from the Greater Des Moines Partnership in September, which highlights its continuous growth with a new production facility in Pleasant Hill. The 50,000-square-foot building will add 100-plus jobs in 2024, the company states.
Dee Zee was also recognized by the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants in October for supporting multicultural needs in the workplace. In addition, the business welcomed 225 students to tour its facilities Oct. 6 to see firsthand the rewarding careers available in manufacturing.
