West Coast Port Labor Contract Expires

The labor contract between the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA)’s 29 west coast ports and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) has expired, posing a threat to U.S. imports, according to a report from Reuters.

According to the report, the ILWU said it does not have any work stoppages planned and normal operations will continue as the sides negotiate a new contract, but President Joe Biden and the U.S. Labor Secretary are continuing to monitor the situation.
