TMI Products, a company that offers a wide range of components for creating custom interiors, announced the first winner of the 2025 TRIM Road Tour. The TRIM Road Tour is a multi-stop competition that spotlights the best TMI-equipped vehicles from across the nation, leading up to the TMI Products’ TRIM Awards at the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On February 2, 2025, at the 75th Grand National Roadster Show (GNRS) in Pomona, California, Jim McKay became the first winner of the five-stop TRIM Road Tour, with his 1972 Ford Bronco. In addition to taking home the TMI hardware, McKay also won the GNRS Best 4×4 trophy. McKay is no stranger to the TMI TRIM Awards, having been a 2024 TMI Road Tour winner with his Lakeside Speed & Shine-built 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, as well as taking home the Best Full Interior trophy in the 2024 TRIM Awards at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

TMI judges Jason Mulligan and Marcel Venable from AutoRevolution were on hand to cover GNRS and chose McKay as the winner, noting how well color and design elements were utilized to bring the inside out and the outside in. The Bronco features a pair of Pro Grand Bucket seats wrapped in Premium Distressed Grey vinyl in TMI’s latest Sport-DDL pattern (Double Diamond with Lines), accented in Orange Contrast Stitch. The orange stitch work was considered a great compliment to the Cadillac Blaze Orange paint.

McKay carried the theme throughout the interior extending from the door panels and quarter panels to the tailgate panel and rear seat upholstery. McKay also modified the TMI salt and paper German square weave carpet kit to fit around his custom roll cage. Premium distressed gray vinyl was incorporated on his custom center console, armrests and dash pad.

Winners Will Compete in 2025 TRIM Road Tour Championship

As the first of five 2025 TRIM Road Tour winners, McKay will compete against four others for the 2025 TRIM Road Tour Championship. That winner will earn a trip to the SEMA Show (November 4-7, 2025) and will earn a Top 20 finalist spot at the TMI Products’ Trim Awards event, a pass to the SEMA Show, a feature parking spot at the SEMA Show, and a five-night hotel stay during the event.

Four stops remain on the 2025 TRIM Road Tour and it’s not too late to enter your vehicle for consideration at one of the upcoming shows, which include:

  • C10 Nationals in Fort Worth, Texas (May 9-10, 2025)
  • Third Stop To Be Announced
  • TMI Cars & Clearance in Corona, California (August 16, 2025)
  • Triple Crown of Rodding in Nashville, Tennessee (September 5-6, 2025)

Prospective participants can enter their vehicles online where they will be added to the judging roster and potentially earn a trip to Las Vegas later this year.
