In our annual “Giving Back” issue of THE SHOP back in June, we covered SEMA Cares, a nonprofit entity that raises money and awareness for children and their families in need. The organization’s three main partners are Victory Junction, Childhelp and the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer.
One of SEMA Cares’ annual events is the Pinewood Drags, where both children and adults representing each of the organization’s three main partners build, decorate and race pinewood cars. Following the Pinewood Drags is the Industry Cup Challenge, where SEMA member companies can sponsor a child-built pinewood car with a $1,000 donation.
This Year’s Industry Cup Challenge
The 2025 Industry Cup Challenge is taking place this Friday, July 25, as part of the SEMA Leaders & Legends Gala pre-banquet reception being held in Universal City, California. Companies will be competing in five different categories: warehouse distributors, manufacturers, media, sales rep agencies and service providers. The winners from each category will then compete for a chance to be named the 2025 Industry Cup champion.
After the races, the SEMA Leaders & Legends Gala will honor the 2025 SEMA Hall of Fame Inductees, as well as incoming and outgoing members of the SEMA board of directors.
