Bernina Gran Turismo Dates Revealed for 2026

Limited to 70 vehicles, the event will highlight the precision & performance of classic cars on the legendary Bernina pass…

The Bernina Gran Turismo will return to the Valposchiavo mountain pass Sept. 11-13, 2026. Following the success of the 2025 edition, which celebrated a decade of the event’s modern revival and a century of motorized travel across the Grisons roads, next year’s event will continue the tradition of precision and performance on the Bernina Pass, event organizers stated in a press release.

Classic car owners and drivers are being invited to apply for a place on the 2026 grid via the participation page on the official Bernina Gran Turismo website. The BGT Selection Committee will review entries in two phases: the first selection will be held in February 2026, followed by a second round in June 2026, when the enrolment will officially close.

To preserve the authenticity and character of the event, the 2026 grid will once again be limited to a maximum of 70 cars. Each entry will be selected to reflect the diversity, integrity and spirit that define Bernina Gran Turismo, noted the release.

Highlights From Bernina Gran Turismo 2025

The 2025 edition brought together 51 vehicles on the 3.54-mile course between La Rösa and Ospizio Bernina. The grid showcased some of the most celebrated machines in automotive history: from the rare 1934 Bugatti Type 59 Sports to the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB SEFAC Competition and the 1971 Porsche 908/10/03, officials said.

In addition, the Bugatti Bolide made its first-ever run on a public road, driven by collector Fritz Burkard, Le Mans winner and Bugatti test driver Andy Wallace, and Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac. Bugatti recently announced the delivery of its final Bolide hypercar model.

For the first time in its modern era, Bernina Gran Turismo also reached a global audience through live broadcasts on Swiss Sport TV and the official BGT YouTube channel, giving enthusiasts worldwide a chance to experience the sound of engines and the spectacle on the Alpine pass as it unfolded in real time.

Rough Luxury at the Bernina Gran Turismo

In 2026, Bernina Gran Turismo officials said that the event will once again embody Rough Luxury, a mindset where authenticity and precision coexist. It is found in the patina of a well-driven car, the exhilaration of pushing a classic car to its limits and a glass of Franciacorta raised at the end of the day.

Note: Until final approval is received from local authorities, the Sept. 11-13, 2026, dates are considered provisional.
