Tesla’s New Cybertrucks Are Showing Rust Issues

Barron’s revealed earlier this week that Tesla Cybertruck owners are dealing with rust issues according to some buyers online. The new vehicle began deliveries in early December 2023, alongside the announcement of the three trim levels at an event hosted by Tesla.

Aside from keeping the vehicle clean, there’s a few aftermarket options that have gained traction with Cybertruck owners. Both vinyl wraps and ceramic coating have shown to help prevent premature rust for Cybertruck buyers, according to Barron’s.

Like many stainless steel products, the body panels are rust-resistant but not rust-proof.
