A new report from Jalopnik reports that small, affordable cars have seen huge sales growth throughout 2024. For example, Mitsubishi Mirage sales have grown by 85% this year, while the Versa has seen a 61% growth in sales.
The news comes as Ford’s CEO, Jim Farley, recently stated, “We have to start to get back in love with smaller vehicles for our society and EV adoption.”
Between ever-changing expectations for the electric changeover and our expectations of limited Lithium availability over the coming years, consumers will likely need to move into smaller vehicles if the EV takeover is to come to fruition.
