Rusty Wallace’s 1986 NASCAR Cup Series Car, nicknamed Millie, will be auctioned on Jan. 17 in Scottsdale, Arizona, with proceeds benefitting the Task Force Dagger Foundation. The Task Force Dagger Foundation supports the special operations community by helping fulfill veteran’s immediate needs, supporting their health initiatives, and holding rehabilitative therapy events for them and their families.
Robert McNab, current owner of the Wallace’s No. 27 Pontiac Grand Prix NASCAR Cup Series Car, knows firsthand the importance of nonprofits like Task Force Dagger Foundation.
“As a Vietnam veteran, I have an understanding of the sacrifice of so many of our young men and women who deserve our upmost respect,” McNab said. “I have and will continue to support these heroes to the best of my ability.”
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Task Force Dagger Foundation’s Health Initiatives program, which provides recipients care and treatment designed to treat the issue and not the symptom through functional medicine and other holistic treatments, according to the nonprofit.
“When we first heard what (McNab) was doing, we were floored,” said Keith David, executive director of the Task Force Dagger Foundation. “Being part of this event and recipient of this donation is critical to our support. We cannot say thank you enough to Bob for his extraordinary gift to the foundation. We hope that when people find out that Bob is donating the proceeds to a charity that supports our special operations families that this will create more interest in the car.”
Task Force Dagger Foundation supports Army Green Berets, Army Rangers, Civil Affairs, Military Information Support Operations, Army Special Mission Units, Navy SEALs, Air Force Special Tactics/Operations and Marine Special Operations and their families.
Since 2009, Task Force Dagger Foundation has supported USSOCOM and special operations families with more $5.1 million dollars of support, according to the group. The foundation’s overhead rate is 14.68 percent.
