RM Sotheby’s announces a collaboration with Magnus Walker for The Magnus Walker Collection, a carefully curated offering drawn from one of the most instantly recognizable Porsche collections in the world, company officials stated in a press release.

At the heart of the collection is a selection of Porsche cars from Walker’s personal collection, presented alongside an extensive array of memorabilia and parts accumulated over decades. Together, they form a deeply personal portrait of a builder and collector whose connection to the marque has always been rooted in the celebration of authentic experience, noted the release.

The Legend of the ‘Urban Outlaw’

A serial entrepreneur, acclaimed fashion designer, property developer, motivational speaker and tastemaker, Walker is recognized globally as one of the most influential Porsche enthusiasts of his generation, the company said. A goal-oriented collector, he has spent decades exploring the uniqueness of Porsche’s front-, mid-, and rear-engined air- and water-cooled cars. It’s an approach to collecting defined by disruptive, innovative sport-purpose builds and the visceral qualities that make a great driver’s car: the sensory emotions it delivers from behind the steering wheel.

“I bought my first Porsche in 1992, when I was 25 years old. It meant everything. It meant freedom. It meant speed. It meant a dream come true. It was the beginning of the next chapter of my love affair with Porsche. It represented a dream fulfilled, and it also represented a personal sense of accomplishment, having a dream that I worked toward and ultimately achieved,” said Walker. “I reached a point where this out-of-control hobby had come to define who I am in a way, and it feels like shedding my skin, a kind of rebirth. It has taken me some time to get to this point where I am ready to let some of these cars go.”

After years of acquiring, building and driving these machines, Walker has chosen to part with a thoughtfully selected portion of his collection. It’s a choice that embodies both reflection and forward momentum, allowing these cars and artifacts to continue their stories with new custodians while making room for what comes next.
