The SCCA National Convention, scheduled for Jan. 21 – 29, 2022, will return with a virtual format, the organization announced.
The week-long event, themed SCCA CONNECT 2022, will provide an opportunity for members, region leaders and event leadership to learn, trade ideas and teach, organizers said. Attendees can attend general sessions and breakouts where members from all parts of the Club present fresh ideas, conduct training and certification courses and have organized discussions. SCCA Annual Meeting and the SCCA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will remain a part of the event.
“Our first-ever Virtual Convention last year set a record for attendance at over double the number of attendees, and lessons learned from that event means this year’s Convention will be bigger, better and even easier to attend,” Chris Robbins, SCCA Director of Region Development, said. “Our Convention, themed SCCA CONNECT 2022, is still free to attend for members who pre-register. We’ll have great content topics and speakers as usual, and since nobody has to drive, fly or make hotel reservations, there are no excuses to not attend and CONNECT with fellow SCCA members, leaders and officials.”
All sessions will be recorded and made available to members via the Member Account Portal, on the My Learning tab following the Convention.
The opening day, Friday January 21, will include the SCCA Annual Meeting, the Convention Kickoff session, Club Awards presentations and announcements, and the induction of the recently announced 2022 SCCA Hall of Fame class.
Throughout the week, attendees and guests will get overviews on new and existing SCCA programs, ranging from legacy programs like Solo and Road Racing through the brand-new road racing Enduro program and experiential programs like Track Night in America and Time Trials. The SCCA Foundation will discuss some of their favorite programs, including the SCCA Archives. Region leadership onboarding, bridging the gap between a National program and a successful Regional program, risk management, marketing strategies, Town Halls, and info sessions from SCCA partners like Hagerty, IMSA, and K & K Insurance are all part of the docket.
Virtually or in person, the SCCA Convention is where we all CONNECT! Attend the Annual Meeting to look in the rearview mirror at our performance over 2021, and view the upcoming year from the front windshield, including how our theme and upcoming changes to our processes and programs will improve the Member Experience and our Operational Excellence.
