Quaker State and Lowrider pulled the cover off a 1968 Chevrolet Impala at the annual 2019 SEMA Show. Quaker State and Lowrider restored the custom lowrider in an effort to support a children’s charity in 2020. Chosen and completely customized by Lowrider, the ’68 Chevy Impala plans to drive around the United States throughout 2020, making appearances at various automotive shows, motorsports races, customer engagements and Lowrider MeatUps.
“It’s continuously been a goal of mine and Lowrider to not only bring awareness to the lowrider community, but also give back to those who need it most, in this case children,” said Lowrider Editor-in-Chief Joe Ray. “This Impala is special to us and we’re grateful to the folks at Quaker State to give us a platform at the SEMA Show to introduce the vehicle to the masses and we’re excited to take it on the road next year for the rest of America to see.”
After the 2019 SEMA Show, the Impala will go on a cross-country trip throughout 2020, where it will be displayed at automotive events and races. Some of the custom work includes an LS3 engine paired to a 4L65E transmission that’s stopped by CPP Disc Brakes. The vehicle rides on a Currie Rear End, Universal Air Suspension, VIAIR Compressors and Energy Suspension Bushings. The Impala was coated with multi-toned green paint and features a custom interior including a 44” moon roof.
