Legislation (House Bill 7972) in Rhode Island would mirror the window tinting and window reflectance requirements in Massachusetts, according to the SEMA Action Network (SAN).
Under current Massachusetts law, non-windshield window tinting is allowed if it meets the minimum standard of 25-percent light transmittance. Current law in Rhode Island allows tint with no less than 43-percent light transmittance.
The bill has been introduced and referred to the House Committee on Judiciary.
